Macrobiotic & Permaculture Course
for Seasonal Living
A week of cooking, harvesting and living in rhythm with the land, blending seasonal Macrobiotics and regenerative permaculture in everyday practice.
Join us for a one-week immersive experience in the natural beauty of Sintra, where Macrobiotics and Permaculture come together in harmony
Terra Alta | 1st edition
May 17 to 23, 2026
Course available in English
Limited group (min. 10 participants)
In this course, you will:
Learn to cook according to the seasons
Discover how the health of the soil influences the food on your plate and your own vitality
Experience food from forest garden to shared table
Build practical tools you can apply at home immediately
This is more than a course.
It’s a living practice.
For one week, you will slow down, cook, harvest, learn and experience a way of living rooted in seasonal awareness, conscious food and regenerative systems.
This experience may be especially meaningful if you feel disconnected from seasonal rhythm, if you want to deepen your Macrobiotic practice beyond theory, if you are curious about regenerative food systems, and if you value embodied learning over purely academic study.
What you will learn
Macrobiotics (with Sónia Jordão)
Introduction to Macrobiotics & Yin–Yang
Understanding balance, extremes and stability through food
The Five Transformations and their relationship with seasons, organs and emotions
Cooking with the seasons & organ–emotion relationships
Strengthening immunity, vitality and kidney energy
Holistic self-assessment and integration into daily life
Permaculture (with Terra Alta team)
Introduction to Permaculture principles
Site tour and observation of the land

Understanding the connection between soil, food and health
Why this course is different
Learning here does not happen in isolation. It happens in the garden, in the kitchen, and around the table.
You will harvest, cook and eat what you help cultivate, experiencing food as a complete cycle
